Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. recently announced the Vishay Dale WSHP2818, a new automotive-grade power metal strip resistor. The WSHP2818 delivers a high 10W power rating in a compact 2818 case size.

Designed to save space and reduce component counts, this new product features:

  • Improved thermal management design
  • High power density
  • Extremely low resistance values from 1 mΩ to 100 mΩ, with tolerances down to ± 0.5 %
  • Solid metal nickel-chrome or manganese-copper alloy resistive element

The WSHP2818 is ideal for all types of “current sensing, voltage division, and pulse applications in automotive engine controls and anti-lock braking systems, brushless DC motor controls, and battery management for electric and hybrid vehicles; down-hole test and measurement equipment; inverter controls for air conditioners and heat pumps; and DC/DC converters and VRMs for servers,” according to the press release.

The Vishay Dale WSHP2818 is RoHS-compliant, halogen-free, and Vishay Green. Samples of the WSHP2818 are available now, with a lead time of six to eight weeks for larger orders. To learn more about this new product and all of Vishay’s offerings, contact a member of the WPGA team.
