Vishay Super 12: WPG America’s Favorite Five TechnologiesJuly 12, 2017
Every year, Vishay Intertechnology, a world leading manufacturer of discrete semiconductors and passive electronic components, compiled a showcase of the best products from their portfolio called the Super 12. We wanted to list our five favorite technologies from their annual Super 12.
SQJQ480E: New Automotive-Grade Power MOSFET
The newly released SQJQ480E MOSFET belongs to the next-generation TrenchFET® Gen IV family of 30 V n-channel power MOSFETs introduced by Vishay/Siliconix. A result of major technological improvements in silicon design, wafer processing, and device packaging, these power MOSFETs deliver outstanding benefits to OEMs and designers of today’s power electronics systems. The TrenchFET® Gen IV family minimizes on-resistance times silicon area of over 60% compared to previous-generation devices, and achieves the best-in-class resistance for reduced power consumption and higher efficiency.
VCNL4035X01 Optical Sensor: Packing Greater Detection Efficiency & Design Flexibility into Gesture Applications
The VCNL4035X01, featuring a programmable interrupt function, includes high sensitivity that permits object detection up to 500 mm. This can greatly minimize accidental touch input that can cause call drops and camera launch. The device comes with Vishay’s Filtron™ Technology, which enables superb background light cancellation capabilities while facilitating ambient light spectral sensitivity, almost resembling the human eye.
IHLE-5A Series: High Current Inductors with E-Field Shield
The new automotive grade, low-profile, high-current inductors feature integrated e-shields to reduce EMI, lower costs, and save space by eliminating the need for any separate board-level Faraday shielding. Vishay's new devices contain the electric field in a tin-plated copper integrated shield, rendering up to -20 dB of electric field reduction at 1 cm when the integrated shield is connected to the ground.
IHXL: Series of Very High Current Inductors
The newly released IHXL-2000VZ-5A, with varied mounting options like solder, welded, through-hole, or bolt-on, is optimized for hybrid electric vehicles (HEV), electric vehicles (EV), wind, and solar power applications. The device's case size with dimensions of 50.8 mm by 50.8 mm by 21.5 mm is the largest in the market available for composite inductors.
SiRA20DP: N-Channel 25 V (D-S) MOSFET Offering High Efficiency and Best-in-Class Resistance
Named SiRA20DP, the N-Channel 25 V (D-S) MOSFET is a part of the next-generation TrenchFET® Gen IV power MOSFETs introduced by Vishay/Siliconix. The TrenchFET® Gen IV family reduces on-resistance times silicon area of more than 60% compared to previous-generation devices, obtaining the best-in-class resistance for reduced power consumption and higher efficiency.
