The New Fast Turn-off Intelligent Rectifier from Monolithic Power Systems

By Rob GrayFebruary 15, 2017

Monolithic Power Systems (MPS), a global supplier of high-performance power solutions, unveiled the company's new offering, MP6924 — a dual, fast turn-off, intelligent rectifier for synchronous rectification in LLC resonant converters.

Monolithic's new CCM/DCM Compatible MP6924 rectifier incorporates two N-channel MOSFETs, which perform the critical task of regulating the forward voltage drop to 45 mV, and turning the MOSFETs off before the switching current goes into negative.

The MP6924’s fast turn-off feature facilitates both continuous conduction mode (CCM), as well as discontinuous conduction mode (DCM).  In addition, the newly launched device also integrates light-load functions that limit the current to 175μA in the case of a light-load condition.

Key Features of MP 6924 Dual, Fast Turn-off, Intelligent Rectifier

  • Works with 12V Standard and 5V Logic Level MOSFETs
  • Compatible with Energy Star, 0.5W Standby Requirements
  • Fast Turn-Off Total Delay of 35ns
  • Wide 4.2V ~ 35V VDD Operating Range
  • 175µA Low Quiescent Current in Light-Load Mode
  • Supports CCM, CrCM, and DCM Operation
  • Supports High-Side and Low-Side Rectification
  • Power Savings of Up to 1.5W in a Typical Notebook Adapter
  • Available in an SOIC-8 Package
