By WPG AmericasNovember 7, 2016

WPG Americas would like to introduce you to Tony Cannone, Regional Display Solutions Specialist (RDSS) for the East Coast supporting customer applications and backing the Field Sales Team.

Tony has a BS in Electrical Engineering from the New York Institute of Technology, Old Westbury. Working his way through college During his college career, he worked for a distributor where he became an FAE after graduation. Holding many different positions in distribution throughout his time in industry, Tony’s position with WPG Americas fulfills both his interest in sales/marketing and technology.

Tony’s typical day consists of talking with field sales team members, customers, product management and manufacturers. Following up in a timely manner on open issues and questions from previous customer visits is very important, as is the accuracy of the information.

Building relationships with customer and FSAs and discussing ways to solve problems and how to grow the business is one thing Tony enjoys about his job. “Working in a high technology environment, there are always changes and nothing is stagnant. I enjoy meeting and working with many different people and building relationships,” he says.

The high-tech environment of the industry means Tony must keep up with changing tech and new applications emerging in the marketplace and in WPGA’s customer base. This innovation can be challenging as well, since the competition is also trying to sell a customer a device or solution. Tony and his team must work to identify opportunities first or earlier in the design and provide consistent service, all while staying price competitive.

“The exciting part of my job is that technology changes so quickly and that can be a challenge as well,”
Tony adds.

Tony’s fanaticism with tech overflows to his personal life. “I am certainly one who helps the economy by trying to get as many of the latest electronic gadgets possible. This personal interest in technology helps me throughout my career. I am never bored,” Tony says, adding, “I am excited about all of the new applications and products that come from the latest technologies being developed by our customers.”
