Bel Power's New Melcher™ HP Series Comes Packed With Enhanced Durability for Harsh Environments

Earlier this month, Bel Power Solutions, one of the world's largest suppliers of premier power conversion and management solutions, announced the release of their new Melcher™ HP Series DC-DC converter (4TE) with an input voltage range greater than 10:1.

Bel's new DC-DC converters deliver 192 watts with an outstanding efficiency up to 93% over input and load range, without derating the operating ambient temperature range of -40° to 70°C.

The Melcher™ HP Series, ideally designed for railway applications, cover a string of battery voltages ranging from 24V to 110V with just one power supply. It integrates continuous input voltage range of 16.8 V to 137.5 V, along with dynamic transient deviations to 12.5 V and 154 V for 2 seconds respectively.

The industry-leading converters, typically developed in traditional Melcher™ style, has been made available in a rugged cassette case for 19" rack or chassis mounting. The device comes in lacquer coated PCB boards, designed to withstand harsh, convection cooled environments.

Bel Power's HP Series DC-DC converters inherit their precision from Bel’s cutting-edge Melcher™ solutions, while additionally incorporating advanced features like reverse polarity protection, 10 ms interruption time, current share, inrush current limitation, adjustable output voltage, remote on/off, over-voltage and user-programmable under-voltage lockout.

The newly introduced converters render an exceptional output range that covers 5 V to 96 V in single, dual, triple or quad output configurations.

Additionally, Bel Power has made available a wide variety of mechanical and electrical accessories for the HP Series, such as the universal mounting bracket for DIN Rail and chassis mounting, a mounting plate for wall mounting, and front panel kit for integrating 2 HP units for a 19" DIN rack with 6U, 5TE.
