Alliance Memory to Offer It's Recently Acquired 512M SDRAMs With Original Micron Part Numbers Through 2017June 14, 2016
Alliance Memory today announced that its expanded portfolio of 32M x 16 and 64M x 8 512M synchronous DRAM (SDRAM) devices, which they recently acquired from Micron Semiconductor, will be available with their original Micron part numbers into 2017. By providing an undisrupted supply of Micron’s end-of-life (EOL) parts, OEM buyers and designers can continue purchasing Micron parts without incurring additional costs for product redesigns, the company stated.
In a press release published on October 20, 2014, the company announced that it had partnered with Micron Semiconductor to supply and extend availability of support for three 512M SDRAM devices that Micron discontinued with Micron PCN #30995 (last time buy: Feb. 28, 2014; last time ship: Oct. 31, 2015).
David Bagby, president of Alliance Memory in a statement said "By continuing to offer the Micron SDRAMs with their original part numbers, we ensure that our customers won't have to do a requalification of the parts for nearly two to three years".
The Micron parts acquired by Alliance Memory include the 32M x 16 MT48LC32M16A2P-75: C (commercial temperature), 32M x 16 MT48LC32M16A2P-75 IT:C (industrial temperature), 64M x 8 MT48LC64M8A2P-75:C (commercial temperature), and 64M x 8 MT48LC64M8A2P-75 IT:C (industrial temperature) SDRAMs.
Meanwhile, Alliance has already started its own design, which will be available in 2016. All 512M synchronous DRAM devices with Alliance Memory part numbers, will be 100 percent identical to the corresponding Micron part number. When the pin-to-pin-compatible parts are ready, existing Micron customers will be able to easily transfer to the Alliance part, without experiencing inconsistency in product availability.
Furthermore, the Alliance Memory 512M synchronous DRAM devices will be manufactured to the same wafer/assembly and test materials and process as the corresponding Micron part number, with only the top-side marking being different.
The memory devices with commercial (0 °C to +70 °C) and industrial (-40 °C to +85 °C) temperature ranges, operate from a single +3.3 V (±0.3 V) power supply. Optimized for medical, industrial, automotive, and telecom applications that require high memory bandwidth, the MT48LC32M16A2P-75:C, MT48LC32M16A2P-75 IT:C, MT48LC64M8A2P-75:C, and MT48LC64M8A2P-75 IT:C are also particularly well-suited for high-performance PC applications.
Integrated with a burst termination option, the PC100 and PC133 compliant SDRAM devices provide programmable read or write burst lengths of 1, 2, 4, 8, or full page. Its auto pre-charge functionality offers a self-timed row pre-charge, initiated at the end of the burst sequence. The easy-to-use refresh feature of the device include auto and self-refresh, while its programmable mode register lets the system choose the most appropriate modes to maximize performance.
Samples and production quantities of Alliance Memory MT48LC32M16A2P-75, MT48LC32M16A2P-75 IT:C, MT48LC64M8A2P-75:C, and MT48LC64M8A2P-75 IT:C, are available now with lead times of six to eight weeks for large orders. The devices will come in 54-pin TSOP II packages that are lead (Pb) and halogen-free.
